COURSE DESCRIPTION: Have you ever been faced with preparing and presenting a proposal to compete for a grant? Or worked against tight or multiple deadlines? How often are resources limited in the proposal process-- to research, organize, and prepare responses? Do you know the critical areas to look for in advance?
Join our comprehensive, hands-on workshop that covers researching funding sources, writing, and reviewing live proposals. The course agenda addresses multiple grant sources. The Federal government provides grants to state, local, and tribal governments, public institutions, private nonprofit organizations, and other groups. Attendees will better understand the grants process for these categories and know how to position themselves to compete. The program teaches sound proposal writing formats and effective communication presentations. During the workshop you will search for various funding sources and draft a proposal (live or sample) to apply key skills in your own organization. Highlights include:
- The elements of a competitive proposal
- How to research and develop upcoming opportunities
- Federal and non-federal grant opportunities
- Write It Right
- Reviewers’ review and rating process
- Grant-seeker’s action plans and process steps
- Presentation Formats – narratives, graphics, charts, & packaging
